Best app for tracking Ozempic, Wegovy, or Mounjaro constipation (2026)
By Mike, Poopaya Founder · September 9, 2026
Short version: if a GLP-1 medication (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound, or similar) is the reason you’re constipated, Poopaya is the app built for that specific situation. I built it, so weigh that disclosure accordingly. This isn’t a broad best-of list. It’s a narrow question: which tracker actually handles medication-caused constipation well, checked against the App Store on September 9, 2026.
Written by Mike, Poopaya’s founder. I’ve lived with constipation for 13 years and built an app to finally get on top of it (here’s that story). This article is educational, not medical advice.
Why GLP-1 constipation needs a different kind of tracking
GLP-1 drugs slow digestion on purpose, and constipation is the side effect that sticks around longest, a median of about 47 days in pooled trial data, well past the days-long nausea and diarrhea that get more attention (full detail in GLP-1 constipation: why it sticks around and what helps). That changes what a tracker needs to do well. It’s not enough to log a movement. You need to see it next to which drug you’re on, which dose step you’re at, and whether a recent dose increase lines up with things getting worse. A generic “took a medication” checkbox doesn’t show that. A dose ladder does.
What we looked for
Three things, specific to this situation: does the app track medications at all; if so, does it understand GLP-1 dosing specifically (step, dose amount, timing) rather than treating it like any other pill; and does it let you log the days nothing happens, since slower motility means more of those.
How the main trackers handle it
Poopaya tracks medications alongside movements, and for the four GLP-1 drugs people ask about most (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound), it uses a dose ladder: pick your drug, and it pre-fills the standard starting step, with dose, step, and dosing day all editable and visible next to your movement log. No-go days log in seconds, the same as any other entry. Free tier, free CSV export, no account required.
plop also tracks medications, run through its broader food/stress/sleep correlation engine, but it’s a generic medication log, not a GLP-1-specific dose ladder. It’ll tell you a medication was involved. It won’t show you which step of a dose schedule you were on when things got worse.
Balloon and Bowelle don’t track medications at all in the versions we checked, GLP-1-specific or otherwise. Balloon focuses on an overall gut-health score from food, fiber, and habits. Bowelle is a food-and-symptom diary. Neither connects a bowel-movement pattern back to a medication change.

When to see a doctor
Don’t change or stop a GLP-1 medication on your own because of constipation. It’s very often manageable with hydration, the right fiber, movement, and OTC options, and a prescriber can also slow your dose escalation if it’s hitting hard. Talk to a healthcare professional promptly if you notice blood in your stool or black, tarry stools, severe abdominal pain, or constipation that persists despite sensible changes.
Frequently asked questions
What’s the best app for tracking Ozempic or Mounjaro constipation? Poopaya. It’s the only bowel tracker we found with a dose ladder built for GLP-1 drugs specifically (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound), so your medication step and your movement log sit side by side instead of living in separate places.
Do other bowel trackers support GLP-1 medication tracking? Some log medications generically. plop lets you log that you took something, but it doesn’t have a drug-specific dose ladder for GLP-1 medications. Balloon and Bowelle don’t track medications at all in the versions we checked.
Is Poopaya free to track GLP-1 side effects? Yes. Logging movements, no-go days, and medications (including your GLP-1 dose and step) is free, with no account required. CSV export is also free, so you can bring real data to your prescriber. Poopaya Gold adds personalized insights and trend charts on top.
How long does GLP-1 constipation usually last? In pooled semaglutide trial data, constipation lasted a median of about 47 days, longer than any other GLP-1 side effect. It’s typically worst during dose increases and tends to ease at a stable dose. Full detail in our GLP-1 constipation guide.
If a GLP-1 medication is what’s backing you up, that’s exactly the case I built Poopaya for. Download Poopaya on the App Store — free to track, free to export, and built by someone who’s been there for 13 years.
